Role, pay and benefits

You join as Senior Product Designer on INR 24,00,000 a year, paid monthly. The bonus is up to 10% and at Example Corp’s discretion. The INR 2,00,000 joining bonus comes back in full if you leave within a year.

The letter does not say whether the repayment applies if Example Corp ends the job.

Probation and notice period

Probation lasts six months, with 15 days’ notice either way. After that, notice is 90 days from either side, and Example Corp can pay salary instead or ask you to stay home.

The week is 40 hours, and you can be asked for more with no extra pay. You get 18 days of paid leave plus public holidays. You work in Bengaluru, and Example Corp can move you anywhere in India.

Confidentiality and who owns your work

You keep Example Corp’s information secret with no end date. Everything you create while employed belongs to Example Corp, even outside working hours.

The letter makes no exception for personal projects unrelated to the job.

Restrictions after you leave

For 12 months after you leave, you cannot work for any competitor in India or approach Example Corp’s employees or customers.

Example Corp can end the job at once, without notice, for misconduct, which includes breaking a company policy. Unvested stock options end on your last day.
